Another Skin Cancer Awareness Month may have come and gone, but a month later we’re still thinking about some of the great fundraising events held to support The Skin Cancer Foundation! While we’re focused year-round on the world’s most common cancer, May is a popular time for friends of the Foundation to take initiative and run their own fundraising events. We love their efforts to support our mission, and we wanted to share some with you.
From charity 5ks to cosmetic parties, in May 2018, our supporters got super creative to raise funds for our community programs and education campaigns. Check out the slide show to see a few of the highlights.
Strides Against Skin Cancer
On May 20th, supporters took to the streets of Kent Island, Maryland, to run/walk a 5k or 10k race benefiting The Skin Cancer Foundation. SCF Member Allan C. Harrington, MD, and his team at Anne Arundel Dermatology coordinated the event, and got many local organizations on board as sponsors for year three of the race.
