		<title>Road to Healthy Skin Tour</title>
		<link>http://www.skincancer.org/content/view/308/</link>
		<description>It&amp;rsquo;s National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month!

Since 1996, May has been a time for educators and health professionals to spotlight skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., with over one million new cases diagnosed every year. Left untreated, skin cancers can be very dangerous, but with early detection &amp;mdash; and intervention &amp;mdash; most are curable. To promote early detection, The Skin Cancer Foundation is providing free skin exams with the Road to Healthy Skin Tour, sponsored by AVEENO&amp;trade; and Rite Aid.

The Tour, which also has support from Columbia Sportswear&amp;reg;, is traveling in a 38-foot customized Winnebago, offering free skin exams to residents in 40 cities across the country. The Tour made an appearance on The Today Show on May 1st and kicked off in New York City with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Foundation President Perry Robins, MD, and Vice President Deborah S. Sarnoff, MD, on May 2 in Union Square, New York City (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=298). Now we&amp;rsquo;re heading up and down the East Coast before traveling West and then South. The Tour will run until the end of October, so please join us when we&amp;rsquo;re in your town!

		<title>The Truth About Tanning</title>
		<link>http://www.skincancer.org/content/view/307/70/</link>
		<description>
Recent studies link tanning beds to skin cancer

Nearly 2.3 million American teenagers visit tanning salons every year, and with summer right around the corner, the temptation to tan is even greater. But with the increasing rates of skin cancer, recent research has found that the use of sunbeds during a person&amp;rsquo;s teens and twenties is linked to an increase in melanoma risk, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
