For Medical Professionals

The Skin Cancer Foundation is dedicated to providing medical professionals with the most up-to-date and effective educational tools on skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Educational seminars, scholarly articles, and research grants on skin cancer are among the many resources The Skin Cancer Foundation offers to the medical community.

Our premier publications, The Skin Cancer Foundation Journal and The Melanoma Letter bring the latest skin cancer news, research and techniques to medical professionals.
  • Articles & Reports  ( 2 items )
These articles and reports, written and medically review by doctors and researchers are provided as a resource to the skin cancer medical community.

  • The Skin Cancer Foundation Journal  ( 3 items )

The Skin Cancer Foundation Journal has been in publication since 1979 serving the dermatological community and patients by presenting medically written and reviewed articles on a broad range of skin cancer topics.

  • Research Grants  ( 2 items )
Funding is provided annually for basic research, clinical studies, and educational programs related to skin cancer. Proposals are evaluated by the members of the Grants Review Committee. All projects are selected on the basis of their applicability to the Foundation's mission of reducing the incidence, morbidity and mortality of skin cancer.

Only applications for research projects relevant to skin cancer will be accepted for consideration. The Foundation's Grants Program is intended for pilot projects, which, if successful, can be further developed in order to be eligible for larger grants from other sources. Research must be conducted at institutions within the U.S. Preference is given to projects that address, at the basic science and clinical level, improved methods of prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancers.

Because the amounts of the grants are small, it is the Foundation's policy not to fund overhead or indirect costs.
