Wallaroo Hat Company, known for their fashion-forward, sun-protective hats, is donating hundreds of hats from their collection to The Colorado Haiti Project. A mission through Airline Ambassadors International (AAI), a non-profit organization affiliated with the United Nations that provides humanitarian aid and international relief to underprivileged communities, The Colorado Haiti Project will deliver goods from Colorado-based companies to villages in Haiti through a partnership with American Airlines.
“We believe community service and helping those less fortunate are very important aspects of our business,” said Stephanie Carter, co-founder of Wallaroo Hat Company. “Providing our UPF 50+ sun protective hats to communities worldwide, such as South Africa, El Salvador, and now Haiti through Airline Ambassadors has been a rewarding experience that we plan to continue.”Wallaroo Hat Company is known for their charitable contributions in the Boulder area and worldwide. Committed to corporate philanthropy since the company was founded in 1999, Wallaroo has a long history of donating hats to causes they believe in.
In the past, they have been proud supporters of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Boulder, donated $10,000 worth of hats for survivors in the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk, and have regularly donated hats to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Survivors, a local set of female cancer survivors active in the outdoor community. In 2008, the company will be donating 1% of the company’s net proceeds to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
