Including The Skin Cancer Foundation in your will is one of the easiest and most thoughtful ways to support our programs. Planned Giving allows a donor's charitable gift to benefit his or her overall financial, tax, and estate planning goals while supporting the Foundation and its programs. Planned gifts usually are derived from a donor's assets rather than income and can be outright or deferred. It is recommended that interested donors consult with a tax or legal advisor to discuss the following options:
- Through a general bequest, you may provide that a specific piece of property (such as stocks, bonds, real estate, or even jewelry), an amount of money, or a percentage of your estate will go to the Foundation.
- A residuary bequest may simply state that the Foundation is to receive the remainder of your estate after all specific bequests have been made.
- A contingent bequest may be used to ensure that the Foundation receives money or property if one or more of your named beneficiaries do not survive you.
- A life income bequest can provide the security of a lifetime income for you or your loved ones, while assuring an eventual gift to The Skin Cancer Foundation.
