On October 10th, a crowd of more than 500 people were in attendance at Pierre Hotel in New York City to honor Colleen Goggins, Worldwide Chairman, Consumer and Personal Health Group of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc., and Valerie Monroe, Beauty Director of O, The Oprah Magazine. The evening was highlighted by the unveiling of the Foundations new Go With Your Own Glow anti-tanning campaign, which can be viewed by clicking this link. The star studded event featured celebrities such as Meredith Vieira from The Today Show, Tony Sirico from The Sopranos, and singer/actress Emmy Rossum. Other celebrities in attendance were CariDee English, Frank Dicopolous, Leven Rambin, Mike Jerrick and Scott Adsit. Showcased by Meredith Vieira was the Sun Ring, a 4 carat cognac diamond right hand ring donated by A Diamond is Forever. The ring was auctioned off on charitybuzz.com the following week. All proceeds benefited The Skin Cancer Foundation. After a wonderful dinner and awards ceremony, Emmy Rossum gave the audience a special treat with a wonderful performance of original songs as well as a classic from “The Phantom of the Opera.” This year’s Gala was a great success, with a total of $975,000 raised to benefit the Foundation’s public awareness programs.
