For the fifth year in a row, Adolfo Fernandez-Obregon, MD, joined us at the Rite Aid event on Willow Avenue in Hoboken, NJ. We really appreciate his ongoing support of the Tour—and for volunteering for a full day. Tour visitors were likewise glad to see us again. One patient said, "I love that you keep coming back to this Rite Aid in Hoboken. Year after year I look forward to coming here for a screening."
This year we had a change in scenery, and in the noise level. The adjacent parking lot is under major construction and the noise level of the machines was so loud that Christie bought earplugs! During lunchtime, several construction workers made it a priority to get screened and they were very thankful they had the opportunity to get this done. Skin cancer is certainly a concern among those who work outside for most of the year. During the five-hour event, Dr. Fernandez-Obregon screened 22 patients and detected two suspected skin precancers and one suspected basal cell carcinoma.
