The Skin Cancer Foundation’s third annual A Night the Stars Shine On event in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood was a smashing success. Held April 26 at Ristorante Barolo, the event united New Yorkers in the fight against skin cancer. Event co-chairs Mindy Gorman and Elizabeth Robins, Esq., with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, created a memorable evening of food, cocktails and music. All proceeds from the event benefit The Skin Cancer Foundation’s research and education initiatives.
Guests enjoyed beats by DJ Ray Jarrell and were treated to hors d'oeuvres by Ristorante Barolo and Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs® with dessert by Lily’s Creations. Pavoneo provided unique tequila cocktails.
Several lucky patrons took home luxury raffle prizes, ranging from an in-home gourmet dinner for two donated by Food Network celebrity chef Chris Nirschel, to a Yankees Luxury Box Suite, an $8,000 value.
Attendance was a mix of New York trendsetters, prominent members of the medical community and celebrity guests, including NBC’s Extra host and skin cancer survivor Jerry Penacoli, Chris Nirschel (Celebrity Couples Therapy and Chopped) and actor Steven Pasquale (Rescue Me).
The event committee included Eva Fahler, Mia Fahler, Leena Gurevich, Scott Neher, Chris Robbins and Adam Schweitzer. A special thanks to the event sponsors: Dermapath Diagnostics New York; Live Love Laugh; Private Banking and Investment Group; Dr. Rex and Mrs. Johnnie Amonette; MD Solar Sciences; UV Sun Sense; La Roche-Posay and Ocean Radiation Oncology.
