The Skin Cancer Foundation hosts events and professional conferences in an effort to spread awareness while raising funds to support research and education initiatives. Events like the annual Skin Cancer Foundation Gala have gained a strong reputation with beauty industry insiders, while the Foundation’s annual A Night the Stars Shine On evening of cocktails attracts some of New York’s social elite.

The Skin Cancer Foundation’s Road to Healthy Skin Tour travels the country each year, offering free full-body skin cancer screenings and providing the latest skin cancer information to the public. In conjunction with the annual American Academy of Dermatology meeting, the Foundation hosts an annual reception for our professional members, which offers them the opportunity to network.

The Skin Cancer Foundation 2012 Gala

The Plaza Hotel in New York City buzzed with excitement on October 9th as an eclectic mix of guests representing the beauty, media, medical, pharmaceutical and retail industries attended the 2012 Skin Cancer Foundation Gala. The annual event honored Genentech, PGA TOUR and Lucy Danziger, Editor-in-Chief of SELF Magazine. Honorees received Skin Sense Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievements in skin health, including public education about sun protection and skin cancer prevention.

  1. A Night the Stars Shine On 2012

    The Skin Cancer Foundation’s third annual A Night the Stars Shine On event in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood was a smashing success. Held April 26 at Ristorante Barolo, the event united New Yorkers in the fight against skin cancer. Event co-chairs Mindy Gorman and Elizabeth Robins, Esq., with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, created a memorable evening of food, cocktails and music. All proceeds from the event benefit The Skin Cancer Foundation’s research and education initiatives.

  4. Sun Safety Expo 2011

    Location: Grand Central Terminal, New York

    Nearly 7,000 people visited the Sun Safety Expo, held at New York’s Grand Central Terminal on June 9, 2011, where The Skin Cancer Foundation and a collection of its Seal of Recommendation holders teamed up to raise skin cancer and sun protection awareness in time for the start of summer. This was the second year of our Sun Safety Expo, and we were thrilled to welcome back many of the exhibitors from last year.
