Public Safety Warning and New Sun Protection Standards

On May 1, 2025, The Skin Cancer Foundation Photobiology Committee shared a public safety warning regarding the prevalence of sun protection misinformation amid growing skin cancer rates in the U.S. The Photobiology Committee also issued new standards for the Seal of Recommendation earned by products that meet its criteria for safe and effective sun protection against the two types of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that have been directly linked to skin cancer: UVA and UVB. Destination Healthy Skin Is on the Road!

Our brand-new, fully customized Destination Healthy Skin (DHS) RV hit the road on April 21, traveling to Illinois and Ohio, before heading to New York City for screening events in May. DHS is a program that’s designed to save lives by providing free skin cancer screenings and education to people who need it most. This spring and fall we’re visiting 28 communities around the United States.
