TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISERS

• Lead by example: Make a donation to kickstart your fundraising efforts.
• Set a goal: Don’t be shy; reach for the sky!
• Compile a list of prospective donors: Think of friends, family, neighbors and colleagues and the best way to reach them.
• Make it personal: Share your personal connection to skin cancer and why you choose to support The Skin Cancer Foundation. Your network will appreciate the opportunity to support a cause that is meaningful to you, just ask!
• Spread the word: Fundraise with letters, emails, texts and social media. Be sure to share a link to your personal fundraising page and how funds raised impact the Foundation’s lifesaving work. Reach out to us for templates to help you get started!
• Follow up: Send your contacts a friendly reminder about your fundraiser. On average it can take 3-5 reminders before someone donates. People can sometimes be busy and get distracted and will appreciate a follow-up message.
