  • Skin cancer education: With more than 11 million people visiting each year, SkinCancer.org features hundreds of pages of medically reviewed skin cancer information that reaches people in all corners of the world.
  • Public awareness: Our team places 500 million media impressions on skin cancer information every year, helping consumers everywhere understand the importance of early detection with programs like The Big See®, and the dangers of sun exposure.
  • Free skin cancer screeningsDestination Healthy Skin, our mobile early detection and community education program hits the road every year in our custom RV appointed with two fully equipped exam rooms. The Foundation has provided more than 32,000 free skin cancer screenings. Volunteer dermatologists have detected more than 13,000 potential skin cancers and precancers have been detected, including 600 suspected melanomas.
  • Patient and caregiver resources: The Robins Nest program provides guidance and support for skin cancer patients. We provide a carefully curated collection of resources that offer assistance with insurance, health care costs, transportation, coping support and other issues that arise with a skin cancer diagnosis.
  • Youth educationSun Smart U delivers skin cancer prevention and anti-tanning messages to middle and high school students at a crucial time in their development, when they’re beginning to make their own sun protection decisions.
  • Skin cancer research: Since 1981, The Skin Cancer Foundation has funded more than $2 million through our Research Grants Program. Many early career investigators in the dermatology community use their grants to launch studies on the prevention, detection or treatment of skin cancer that ultimately lead to significant advances for patients and physicians.
  • Advocacy: Over the years, we’ve pushed local and national government to act on a variety of issues, including tanning bed regulation, increasing the number of sunscreen ingredients available to Americans as a part of the SAFE Sunscreen Standards Act and allowing children to bring sunscreens and other sun protection methods to schools and camps to use as needed. The Foundation is a founding member of the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, a coalition of nonprofits and government organizations that collaborate on skin cancer prevention campaigns and advocacy initiatives.

The Skin Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.

75% percent of our funds go directly toward our lifesaving programs. With additional in-kind donations, we’re able to allocate 92% percent of our resources to educational initiatives.
