Skin Cancer Foundation Editorial and Corrections Policy
The Skin Cancer Foundation is committed to remaining a leader in the skin cancer education space by publishing accurate, timely and relevant information across all its platforms. The Foundation makes its recommendations based on independent review of available research, careful consideration of the latest data and verification with skin cancer experts. The Foundation accepts grants and funding for general and administrative support and to sustain specific education programs. However, the Foundation does not cede editorial influence to any outside organization or individual, regardless of donor support.
We expect to update and polish online content after its initial publication to reflect the latest statistics available and correct any stylistic errors. We do not edit social media posts outside of a reasonable timeframe and will not flag every change for followers; however, we will add an appropriate acknowledgment of correction if new information has revealed a significant error in an earlier version of our content. The Foundation strives to correct any errors as quickly as possible and will take appropriate steps to rectify the situation on our website and on any social media channels where we reference the materials.
